Helpful Tips for Shopping

Everyone loves shopping! Who wouldn't like it? It feels real good to have the freedom to grab everything you want at the mall without checking its price tags. But because of the economic problems we are facing from day to day, people now practice how to be a wise and responsible shopper.

So now, let me give you some helpful tips for a well-planned shopping trip:

Make a shopping list and stick to it

A shopping list will help you big time in saving your time and keeps you from buying unnecessary items. It prevents you from buying on impulse. Visit other stores and compare prices of items on your list if there is enough time.

Never shop when hungry!

It would be safest to eat at home first before going out for a shop trip. Avoid passing by places where bakeshops and restaurants are located. The mouthwatering menus and the aroma of freshly baked bread are too tempting to pass up.

Always keep a good watch at the counter

Some stores still use manual cash register, so make sure that your purchases are entered correctly when paying to avoid wrong computation and double entries.

 Keep all the receipts

The receipts will help you on tracking the item’s prices especially when you do your budget. Keeping receipts is also important when you need to exchange or return an item.

Be extra cautious when going for sales

Sure, sale is a good opportunity for a good buy because of the discount. But some people tend to bunchy buying when on sale and still end up like buying with the original price or even at a higher price.

Check expiration dates

I was a victim of eating expired canned goods because I never bother to check the expiry date of the item. So now, before checking its price, I check the expiry date first.

 Go green

Let’s be wise not only in financial aspect but also in environmental aspect as well. Use reusable bags that last up to two years of weekly use. While we help ourselves to be a wise spender, let’s also help our mother nature.

Have a happy shopping!
